Fundraising History

2001
  • Bailey was diagnosed with autism on June 13.
  • In September, we participated in our first Walk F.A.R. for NAAR autism research fundraiser in Boston, MA and raised over $8,500 for research with 30 of BAILEY’S TEAM supporters by our side!
2002
  • We joined the Boston walk committee representing BAILEY’S TEAM and other families living with autism and went on to raise over $18,600 for research with over 100 Bailey’s Team walkers!
2003
  • We founded and chaired the first Southern New England Walk F.A.R. for NAAR autism research fundraiser in Providence, RI and BAILEY’S TEAM raised nearly $40,000 – again with about 100 walkers joining us at Roger Williams Park!
2004
  • With the help of a very special team member and his effort to increase our fundraising success, BAILEY’S TEAM went on to raise nearly $70,000 for autism research in just one year (an enormous increase from 2003’s 40k!!)
2005
  • We chaired the first New England Chapter comedy event for Autism Speaks held on Valentine’s Day - A Funny Kind of Love - featuring Boston’s best: Stephen Wright, Lenny Clarke & Tony V.
  • In July, we introduced the first BAILEY’S PAR Charity Golf Tournament, held at Wentworth Golf Club in Wrentham in an effort to increase awareness and revenue in support of autism.
  • BAILEY’S TEAM went on to raise a total of $75,000 for autism research and awareness!
  • In November Sammi joined the New England Chapter’s Board of Directors for Autism Speaks
2006
  • We held our second annual charity golf tournament in June – this time moving it to Blackstone National Golf Course in Sutton, MA increasing participation!
  • BAILEY’S TEAM went on to raise a total of over $69,000 for autism research and awareness.
2007
  • We held our third annual charity golf tournament and went from an annual income of about $8,000 in years one and two (from this event only), to $16,500 for autism research and awareness all donated to Autism Speaks.
  • BAILEY’S TEAM went on to raise a total of nearly $69,000 for autism research and awareness.
2008

  • We held our fourth annual charity golf tournament raising over $25,000 and of these funds, we donated $20,000 to the Arc of Northern Bristol County – a service agency providing resources and assistance to families with disabilities including autism; and $5,000 to Autism Speaks’ Family Services Initiative, a national program which awards funds back to communities in support of programming for individuals and their families living with autism spectrum disorders.
  • BAILEY’S TEAM went on to raise a total of $53,800 for autism research and awareness and services for families living with autism.  Programs / Organizations funded included Autism Speaks,  The Arc of Northern Bristol County,  Community Autism Resources(Allocated specifically to help fund a parent retreat for parents of children with autism), The Hockomock Area YMCA’s Integration Initiative, ALEC (Autism Law Enforcement Education Coalition), Early Learning Center Parent Teacher Organization (supporting the development of a “Boundless Playground” serving North Attleboro and surrounding communities, and The Autism Project of Rhode Island. 
  • Also in 2008, Bailey's Team became incorporated as a non-profit organization and received its exemption status under the 501(c)(3) internal revenue code.
2009
  • We held our fifth annual (signature) charity golf tournament raising over $26,000; and we held our first Wine & Beer Tasting at Dave & Buster's in Providence, Rhode Island and raised $7,500 all in support of individuals living with autism and their families!  
  • In total, in 2009 Bailey's Team raised over $57,500 in support of individuals our mission and  94% of our net income was distributed to the numerous projects and organizations including the Autism Science Foundation, a Parent Retreat titled Reflecting on the Journey, The Arc of Northern Bristol County, our first educational three-part lecture series, the Autism Project of Rhode Island and other important projects supporting individuals living with autism and their families.
2010
  • We held our sixth annual charity golf tournament raising over $34,000; and we held our second Wine & Beer Tasting at CBS Scene in Foxboro, MA raising $6,500 all in support of individuals living with autism and their families!  
  • In total, in 2010 Bailey's Team raised over $65,500 in support of individuals our mission and  94% of our net income was distributed to the numerous projects and organizations including the Groden Network, Kennedy Donovan Center, Brown Center for the Study of Children at Risk, Community Autism Resources, our second educational lecture series, the Autism Project of Rhode Island and other important projects supporting individuals living with autism and their families.
2011
  • In 2011, we surpassed our earnings yet again and raised over $67,300 in support of individuals living with autism and their families, with a focus on research, education and programming!  Our signature fundraiser - our 7th annual Bailey's Par for Autism - raised over $32,000 and our annual campaign yielded an additional $19,000.  
2012
  • In addition to our line up of annual events, we introduced our first 4 mile Bailey's Run 4 Autism event.  Held at Legacy Place in Dedham, MA, we welcomed over 200 runners reaching out to yet a new population from all over New England.  This inaugural event was very successful and included sponsors such as City Sports, Whole Foods and Citizen's Bank - all operators at Legacy Place.
  • Also in 2012, Bailey's Team received a very special donation from our friends at the New England Patriots Alumni Club.  Following the death of Patriots great Mosi Tatupu, Steven Nelson and Roland James managed a Memorial Scholarship Fund in Mosi's honor and chose Bailey's Team to be a recipient of a generous donation in the amount of $5,700 to support people with autism.
  • This donation along with our full schedule of fundraisers and annual campaign resulted in our raising nearly $76,500!
